CAPABLE: Community Advancement and Partnership for Accessible and Balanced Learning and Employment is a trailblazing initiative developed by HRPURPOSE, dedicated to fostering the empowerment and inclusion of equity-deserving and vulnerable groups, with a special focus on youth 18 to 29 with disabilities. This project, with its goal to markedly enhance public awareness and comprehension of both the challenges and potentials associated with this demographic in the workforce, stands as a beacon of change and progress.
At the heart of CAPABLE is a commitment to serving 200 youth with disabilities each year over the course of two years. This direct impact on the lives of many is aimed at catalyzing a larger societal transformation. Each participant will receive targeted support and training, designed to unlock their potential and pave the way for their meaningful inclusion in various professional environments.
Further bolstering the efficacy of CAPABLE is its strategic collaboration with over 50 businesses from a multitude of sectors. These partnerships are not just about providing employment opportunities; they are about creating a symbiotic relationship where businesses can benefit from the unique perspectives and skills that youth 18 to 29 with disabilities bring to the table. This initiative also involves collaboration with more than 20 nonprofit community organizations that serve equity-deserving and vulnerable communities, ensuring a well-rounded and inclusive approach.
The project places a strong emphasis on accessible and balanced learning opportunities, which are key pathways to meaningful employment. This approach is designed to equip participants with both the skills and the confidence needed to thrive in today’s dynamic job market. CAPABLE aims to dismantle barriers and build bridges, ensuring that learning and professional development opportunities are within reach for all.
Through CAPABLE, HRPURPOSE aspires to construct a more inclusive society where every individual is not only recognized for their unique contributions but also provided with equal opportunities to succeed professionally and personally. Our vision extends beyond mere assistance to youth with disabilities; it is about changing the narrative and societal perceptions, fostering an environment where diversity is not just accepted but celebrated. This project is set to create a ripple effect of empowerment and positive change, resonating with the principles of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and propelling Canada forward on a path of inclusivity and equitable progress.
